The motto of this initiative is that “no one should starve in Changanacherry.” This is a scheme started in December 2016 provides lunch to poor patients and bystanders at the Taluk Government Hospital and Government Ayurvedic Hospital in Changanacherry. At present, lunch is provided to about 250 people who are either in-patients or bystanders in the Hospitals. Voluntary contributions from the community at large provide the financial backing and volunteers from the local community prepare and transport the meals to the destination on a daily basis except on Sundays.
The aim is to organize distribution of lunch to the destitute or disabled in the community, who cannot afford financially or prepare food on their own because of physical impairment. A group of volunteers gladly assist us both for cooking the food and serving the food. We intend to cover the project to the entire Changanacherry Taluk to ensure that the place is starvation free.
