Leadership Speaks
Director's Message
Man, as a social being, must be kind and empathetic towards his fellow human beings. Empathy should not remain mere rhetoric; society at large should be enabled to feel and experience its nobility through a culture of sharing and caring. Though globalization has brought the world closer, it has not made the bonds of brotherhood any stronger, nor has it brought us emotionally closer. It is only when we experience the power of love that we are able to feel the pain and sufferings of our brethren and respond positively.
Charity World is the humanitarian arm of Radio Media Village 90.8 FM, Changanassery. The radio station was inaugurated on 10th February 2012 under the visionary leadership of our Founder, Mar Joseph Powathil, and with the blessings of Archbishop Mar Joseph Perumthottam. It was led by Rev. Fr. Sebastian Punnassery and Rev. Fr. Antony Ethackadu. Radio Media Village was never just a radio; it became a medium to search out and find the suffering. When our team went out in search of stories of people who suffer without anyone to help them, we saw hundreds of patients lying bedridden in their homes without medicines and without food. From their tears, Charity World was born.
In 2014, Charity World was registered as a charitable society. The voluntary service of many noble souls who willingly commit their time, energy, capabilities and even financial resources to the activities of the Trust constitutes the paramount strength of Charity World Trust. All our activities are run solely through the financial support of our benefactors. They donate generously — in big and small amounts and in kind.
We try our utmost to live up to our goal that no patient should die for want of money for medical treatment. As mentioned, the entire gamut of our activities is financed through donations received from our benefactors. Donations made to the Trust are eligible for income tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act. The only factor limiting our activities is financial constraint; otherwise, we could broaden our base and increase the number of beneficiaries manifold.
Therefore, my appeal to all visitors to this site is to donate generously. I assure you that every penny will be used in a bonafide manner to provide succour to the poor.
Let us all collectively put our shoulders to the wheel to come to the rescue of the most deserving and vulnerable sections of our society.
